They don't get to decide how big their parking lot is. The city county and state do. They could buy thirty acres but the county will only permit them to build x parking spaces, and that only if y amount of land is devoted to beautification landscaping.

Well drivers, it really doesn't matter if you like Loves or not, they are the only one of the major players that are making any effort to build travel centers either small or medium sized. It might just be corporate greed or a private rich family expanding their empire but they are doing it. Ultimately it gives us another place to park and enough of them will make a difference in the shortage. I just wish they offered sit down restaurants instead of fast food only but that is the way today's world seems to be going.mjd4277, drvrtech77, Watchman63 and 1 other person Thank this.

I didn't say anything about liking or disliking loves. I responded to the complaint anout small parking lots, how it isn't the truck stop (loves, pilot, or anyone else) that decides on the size of the lot, it's the people writing the building permits.
Personally, with few exceptions, i try to avoid all truck stop chains. I get my fuel and get out and go park some place i won't get blocked in at, or get my hood ripped off.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
You can sit down and eat at any of those restaurants hahaha....in all seriousness you are right though. They have even expanded some of their current stops and added more parking. They added more spaces in Prescott AR and Richmond IN
-
Did they expand them in a way that doesn't create an absolute cluster like they did to the one in ohio ay the 71/35 interchange? I pulled in there late one evening last winter due to my trip plan going all to hell. The civil engineer that designed that needs his head examined. They simply built a narrow T shaped addition off the back of the lot.bryan21384 Thanks this.

The one in Richmond IN is nice. It's a lot of room to maneuver there. It's new reason why even a newbie should have difficulty backing at that location. The one in Prescott has an entrance and exit. The lot is U-shape across the street. It's ok, but I give them an A for attempting.

That one in Jeffersonville is a cluster....I never like those dead end parking lots where you have to back in from the main lot, or blind sidespyder7723 Thanks this.

And if there isn't a spot you gotta back out while 30 swifts and werner try to force their way around you. You woud think the ######## would take a moment to think 'why is this guy backing out? Maybe there is a reason for it"bryan21384 Thanks this.

You spoke some truth there. I find it so.mich easier to just park where the TA is. It's more variety of food choices..... Chipotle is over there lol. I park at Speedway since I get fuel there....those points add up fast!

Normally when running that area ill make it down into ky and parking is plentiful, or if going North ill make it farther up to one of the truck only rest areas. Just happened that specific time the day had been a perfect storm of things going wrong to screw up the trip plan, so was short of time to make ky. The ta was full so i tried the loves, figured i might get lucky and hadn't been there in years so didn't know how they designed that add on parking section. After wasting nearly an hour getting backed back out i just went over hos and went down to ky anyway.bryan21384 Thanks this.
