New Mandate Is Terrible !!

Maybe FMCSA should just conduct a class on how to better manage your time frame window, and how to adjust your time frame window by saying, NO CAN DO. THE LOAD WILL BE THERE AT (insert time here)

 

If you cannot get the work completed in the legal amount of hours allotted maybe you need to readdress the way you conduct your business. If you believe need to falsify logs to make good money, maybe you need to stop hauling cheap Freight that requires crazy amounts of miles per week.
But hey what do I know? I'm not going to let some technology harm me.
And yes it does come down to trip planning, planning your loads and your routes carefully, and realizing that you're not going to be able to be 60 miles per hour everywhere you go.
Go ahead be offended I said it I really don't care. You can complain about how following the rules is hurting you I'm just going to make money.

I mange my time and stay compliant by running faster than I normally run and also burning more fuel than I normally would.

I was one of those who said this. Thus, at this point you are addressing me.

 

Do you mean to say that you were running illegally before in order to make these runs and instead of blaming the HOS you're blaming the thing that's holding you to the law?

 

Sounds like you've got a problem. Sounds like you are incapable of finding a better way to rectify the problem. Sounds like a shortcoming on your part. Sounds like you need to sit down with somebody a bit more capable than yourself, and see if you can figure out a better way of dealing with your problem since you are incapable of doing it on your own.

 

Would that someone be a driver of a red 65 mph cascadia by chance? Perhaps you can even consult his Qualcomm lol I'm sure that driver is the expert...

There isn't anything illegal about driving the speed limit. Sure he colored outside the lines maybe a couple hours a week. Now he drives faster and is on the straight and narrow hos wise. Which way is the better way to do things?

 

I dunno. You have to ask him. There were a lot of guys out there who thought it was the thing to do to drive 5 MPH under the speed limit everywhere they went, run 12 hours, log it as 11. I never believed in that philosophy on paper logs, so he and I will never see eye to eye about it.
And even moreso, I don't care because I think he's whining for no reason.

 

What they should do is suck it up, deal with it like a man, and quit crying about it like little 10 year old boys. Bunch of cry babies in this industry it's pitiful. Meanwhile thousands upon thousands of Independents and Companies made the change well In advance of the mandate and seem to be doing business as usual.
