I don't work for Prime, but the posts I've read indicate the tanker division, for drivers in the Northeast, don't get the miles.
All you need really is a good, solid 12 months pulling about any type trailer, then you can go to many good companies.
I think @redoctober83 and @PChase work for or have worked for Prime so maybe they can give you good advice on Prime. You living in Vermont can be tough, so I'm not sure if refrigerated or flatbed with Prime would be best for a Vermont driver.
Contract Freighters Inc. www.cfidrive.com runs lots of Canada, so that may be an option since you're up there near the border.
Again, Schneider Bulk (tankers) is an excellent place to get the career started. You may not be close enough to a termnal for tankers, but can ask.

Clean Harbors is hazmat tanker and hires all over Vermont. After 12 months experience somewhere, take a look at this company.

I'll have to put in a word for McKesson of Memphis. There are a few facilites of this Company that is one of the top three sources of medicine for all Peoples in hospitals etc around the USA. Memphis is not the only facility.
Carriers contract to McKesson to run unmarked rigs and unmarked trailers with million plus dollar value loads in narcotics. You do not touch them. You back her into the dock go to sleeper. They unload you in a short time, reload with cardboard waste going RIGHT back to Memphis most every time. Otherwise return empty. Sometimes relay medicines to a facility closer to that which need it. We did Detriot to Connecticut on the day of 9-11 after delivery and reloading narcotics to cross the GWB later that night on 9-11. It was one of the few times we diverted from the usual Memphis delivery return back to Memphis. And that was a day of days.
It is one of the easiest trucking with piles of money a week. But you also have to show prey behavior because of the predators around Memphis. You do NOT stop once loaded and rolling (Usually drop hook) not for a minimum of 300 miles. If you have food and water inside your sleeper for several weeks you only need fuel and body waste removal to stop. Everything else can be taken care of while you are docked and unloading.
My two cents anyhow. I have talked about McKesson before and will continue to do so again. It was very good to us in our time.born&raisedintheusa, Just passing by and Dan.S Thank this.
