Hello to all, found your site, seems to be really neat, my truck is a little smaller, I quess you would call it a Hot Shot truck, not really sure. I was in the boat sales/service business for 23 yrs., sold out and kept my custom boat hauling truck & trailer and started moving boats for my overseas buyers and word of mouth from many contacts I had made being in boat sales. I call myself semi-retired, I haul about 20-30 boats a year.
My truck is a 1953 Ford, C-500, COE, [cab over engine], some old timers call it a Butt Head truck, I mounted a sleeper from a Western Star and tow a 39' goose neck tra. & a 30' alu. boat trailer. The body is sitting on 1/2 Freightliner FL80, up front & 1/2 Ford Super Duty at the rear, that gave me a 3:31 rear, it has a 8.3 C-model Cummins, 325hp., 925 torque, with an Allison 6 sp. auto with 2 overdrives, at 2000 rpm I'm running 90mph, If you want to see pic's, you can go to Photobucket.com, search for "53coe", then click on "view 53coe's profile".
My wife & DOT, think I'm a nut, but I just love the old school stuff, and I'm having fun!!!, life is to short not to have fun, I live in Hudson, Fl., not far from Tampa, thanks to all for reading this, Wayne Trent
