Hi all, I just bought a 2006 International 8600 to use with a small hopper bottom grain trailer for my farm operation. This is the first semi I have owned. I have always used straight trucks or tractor and wagons for hauling before. I have a lot to learn about the semi-truck industry

Welcome aboard......Correct terminology, a 3 axle truck tractor is called a class 8, not a semi. A 2 axle truck tractor is called a class 7. When using the phrase "semi", it refers to a trailer with no front wheels, which means it's a "semi trailer". This type of trailer is the most common, as it hooks to a 5th wheel "power unit" (another term for a truck tractor). Hope I didn't confuse you ! Well, let me add another.....the go-go juice in your fuel tanks is diesel or fuel, NOT gas. Have fun out there.
