Any my fellow skate boarders been runnin' the New Mexico onions of late? I noticed they are paying $2.50 plus right now. I am thinking of takin' a load out of LA going to the ABQ. Just wondering what the experience was like, good or bad. I'm used to hauling building materials, not food stuffs.

Where are the loads going? I'll take a few if they are going to the far East.

onions suck they usually want 900 bags which is theoretically 45k and some change but realistically with the overages and pallets 48k+ most times not all not to mention very big claim if u cook them. u must tarp a certain way in order to let them breathe. another thing is a lot of them go to reefer warehouses so usually u will have a weird appt time and it could be hours till they unload u. i hauled 1 load and i swear never again i was 83k and change and everyone left the shipper after i left on a friday so noone could be gotten a hold of. do search and u will find out im not the only one that has a bad experience with them.

there is a reason why they pay 2.50 a mile

YIKES ! Answers that question. I will quit driving before I go to a grocery warehouse. I like getting loaded and unloaded in less than an hour.

there's no reason why they pay $2.50 a mile. last year it was less. the year before it was more. i was company 2 years ago and i got 50 cents a mile on the percentage pay scale. so they paid really good 2 years ago.

one year they pay by the mile. next year they paid by the pound. next year they paid by the bag. don't know how they're paying this year.

i've never had a weight problem. 48 flat fully loaded and i always had weight to spare. and pretty much always hauled 950 bags unless it was the BIG onions. then it was 900.

don't think i'd want to haul them right now though. too many storms to worry about.

my only complaint. receivers LOVE to complain. and will reject the load if they can.

I will buy onions $2.50 a bag Love those Onions But sorry I Don't Like Hauling them.I have Never Been To Any Produce Docks In A Few Years Now and I don't Intend to do that in the future But if for what ever reason I end up Hauling Onions I will do so with a dump truck. This way if those Stingy Freekin warehouses gave me any Crap a bout loading, unloading,Lumper Freeks ,Appointments, Appointment Number,The onions too hot,or cold,or wet,or damaged, short or missing some bags. I can just put that Bucket in that Mexican Gear and lay the onions evenly in their parking lot. and leave. If these shippers are trying to rob me out of my wages by making False Claims I might as well make them re-Bag those onions again. or let them enjoy the stench every time they come to work for weeks 10/10?
