Wow ser, you put the cart in front of the horse on this situation.

 

The only way to do this the way you wanna do it is to take a massive crash course in the trucking industry. Now, you may find a carrier to lease you on. But most won't even look at you since you don't have any experience. And many won't even look at you unless you have a couple years experience on just the Owner Operator side.

So, unless you want to go drive for a company in their truck, your options are limited. You can go 100% independent by buying your own trailer, buying your own authority from the government, & finding your own freight.....

 

but even the ins. companies require some experience.

 

The less experience the higher the dollar.... With Cargo, Comprehensive, Collision & Bobtail... I'd be guessing his insurance bill will be close to $2500 a month if not higher.

 

But he knows the lifestyle, how about your cousin does he have experience with the lifestyle? Because that is important.

You bought a truck and neither you or your cousin have experience.
