This one is the best, or 123loadboard, step_deckcarriers.com, loadsolutions.com has good paying freight and has plenty of listings from total quality logistics and they are higher paying than most.

Pay really well when they have to. That would be like 1 out of 20 loads maybe I dunno? They don't bowl over and bamboozle every prospective truck. Heaven only knows why but seems the hardest words in the world for some people - that think they're always cheap or ain't never got a good rate out of them - is "no thanks I'll pass up on that load Mr broker".

But isn't that the case for every broker that wants to keep the customer. when you are the only available at 430 pm, AND have a rep for ALWAYS delivering on time, and the load HAS to get there, even the cheap brokers have a very good rate.

We just got our authority in January of this year. How do you find direct freight. I have been wrecking my brain trying to find out how.

    Its really not that hard...........

See, Customers NEED their Material, And they do shop Price...But for the Most Part, THEY WANT A TRUCK(s).......

And they dont care HOW they get it...(Either you calling them directly or they make a call to a broker)...But they need a truck!

So simply......Start Calling your Manufacturers within 100 miles of your home/terminal....You WILL get Freight....Its Not that difficult.. Most of your businesses will need a truck sooner or later to bring in their material..

Dont Give up on "No Thanks,We already have a pool of carriers" or "No thanks, We use so and so Broker"........

Keep Calling people and Visit some businesses in Person....But Dont waste anybody's Time.. Be Honest at all times and Provide Top-Notch Service ..ALWAYS!!

When the Name on the side of your truck gets 'Out there' Because your service is unparalled........You'll be turning work down due to the volume of calls for your 1 truck.....

    Best of luck to you

If you are a solo then I would focus on getting in with large carriers that have option for dedicated accounts that pay well. Shippers are getting burned these days being stuck without capacity. In the past when a small shipper worked with a small carrier and something went sideways they had realistic options for recovery. Now, depending on the market, they are getting huge bills to get the freight moved if at all.

Larger carriers have the resources to recover the load that a small carrier doesn't.
