I appreciate, I'll have him reach out to them Monday morning. Usually bigger trucking fleets insure new drivers in Canada that is. Smaller companies often ask for 2 to 3 years experience minimum.

Small and large fleets hire new cdl holders in the states, but not all of them.
The question about 0/0's for new cdl drivers is asked frequently on here. It's a tough road if they jump in too early with no experience. If he can get some road time before you get here, then you can probably do quite well running teams in your own truck.

There's much more to being an O/O than having the financial ability to buy a piece of equipment and possessing a shiny new CDL to operate it legally. Wish him the best of luck in his new venture.

Best advice you and anybody else can give your cousin ...BECOME A COMPANY DRIVER FIRST! Being an O/O is wonderful but it is hard and no matter if you or anybody else rides along with him it's still difficult to take it all in. The last thing you want is for him to fail ...trucking will break people and I just don't mean financially

I think it was PT Barnum who once said, "A fool and his money are soon parted," no?
