I really dont need a lecture on how hard it is, I have been doing research for months and I have already gotten several lectures from my uncle and my families friends that have been doing it for 30 years. I just was looking for a good company to start my first lease with. I would lease to thier company but not enough experience. What kills me I have talked to several companies about joining them and for company driving they want 3 months but for owner operator they want a year????? WTF How does that make sense?? Its my fn truck. LOL

One thing no one has mentioned!! Most of those big companies have an age restriction on tractors and you bought a 9 year old truck; most want 5 years or newer............

Well alot also say 12 years. or as long as an elog can be hooked up. I will find a company, just a matter of time. I can sit on the truck a little while but the sooner I can get rolling the better. But like I said before I put the year of tractor and mt experience, and then asked who I can talk to about leasing on to
and only got like two decent answers, I just want to lease on to a company that hires new owner operators. All I need is that. There is plenty of information on this website and others about what you need to be an owner operator and I have plenty of support.

Im confused....if you did so much research and got great info from 30 years of experience ... Why would you purchase a truck with less than 6 months documented experience (rarely does military experience count but you knew that because you did research) knowing that at a minimum you need at least a year and that's still playing it close...even tho its your truck...you are going to pay a premium for your insurance if you obtain your own authority...but again research ... you knew that...sorry

Your best option is to purchase a trailer and obtain your authority...I am thinking you will need to invest a minimum of another $7,000...you need to look into a factoring company or limit your broker use to those that offer quick pay but of course your family has already told you this, if your own family couldn't get you signed on you thought another carrier could...they probably had an agent that could have pulled some strings...but again you knew that

its really not the trucking industry that is the problem it is the insurance industry ... When I purchased my truck I had 14 years experience no accidents and like 1 lane violation ticket...I kept running into extra high premiums because I had never been an o/o ???? Really but OOIDA accepeted me for a decent rate and I moved foward

Sir I really think your best option is maybe to sign up as a company driver and gain a few more months experience ... OR ... You can see if you can register your truck in a family members name and find a company that will allow him to hire you as a driver with that limited experience...also ...see if whomever had there authority will state that you drove for them as a team driver for a couple of years maybe like 200,000 miles training ... Other than that its my opinion you put the cart before the horse

Hey bro you may have jumped the gun but you can do ok for yourself. You can get your own authority end not have a trailer. You can setup with jb hunt and pull there's and do ok till u get a trailer. Try a company called MCCI in Marietta, Ga. I wish you the best and keep your head up. I been doing it 17 years it can ne a headache but it worth it.

Thanks and I apologize for getting a little upset to that last guy, and I got a good deal on the truck, just had to get the owner to agree to let me get it inspected by a good mechanic, and he did and it cost me a little bit to get it completely looked at. But the reason I bought the truck was becuase of price and the history it had.
Any body that does not know theres more to trucking than just driving does not need to be doing it. And I know it will be worth everything Ill have to go through, if I can make it through Iraq then I can do this. Im gonna check that company out. Thanks so much God bless and keep it rollin.
