I've been driving company for five years, dry van and reefer. I'm buying my own truck within three months.

I'll be paying in full, no lease or finance and I was a successful LLC business owner in another field before getting into trucking.

I'll have reserve funds for repairs and the such.

But I want to get into flatbed, any recommendations on how to get trained without starting with a training company?

Also, should I look into power only to start, before I get my own trailer? I was in sales for 20+ years, so I'll be good approaching shippers about getting freight, but I know with a new authority it'll take a bit.

Thanks for any recommendations and advice.

    Banker and blairandgretchen Thank this.

You should spend another year reading threads here before you spend a dime or quit your current driving job.

If you get into skateboarding, start off with simple hauls, like Lumber, pipe, palletize loads. And never be afraid to ask. Search on here for flatbed loads and look at the securements.

Are you bored, today? I've quoted insurance, I'm aware of fuel economy, maintenance costs, and know what I'm prepared to spend for a truck, cash.

I just have a few questions that I'm looking for advice on and if you don't wish to help, fine, just quit replying and wasting both of our times. Thank you.

You don't even have a trailer and you know nothing about the freight you're dreaming of hauling. Then, you think there's money in power only and you want to find a place to train you for free. Sorry, it's not adding up. You're here to waste time. All your answers can be found in the search bar on the site but you can't even bothered to handle simple research. I think you're full of feces.
