    Hello all,
I am getting ready to start CDL training at a local community college. Drove years ago for oil field job back in 1977-78 in South Texas. Was a young guy then, around 19 -20 years old. Kids are grown with kids of their own and I am going to get on the road. Plan on getting a solid year OTR then apply for other driving jobs with better pay. Gotta do that year for sure. I have done much research and it is a real cluster as to who to apply to. I have read some of the posts and to tell ya the truth it still is a cluster. Any advice will be appreciated. Glad to find this site! :biggrin_25519:

Welcome to the forums. If you're still interested in working the oil patch, you'll probably be able to find a job fairly easily once you get your license - even without a lot of OTR experience. There's a lot of great threads here on that topic, so keep on reading. Good luck!
