If it's been sitting awhile I'd change steer tires regardless of condition.. A buddy bought a truck with almost new steers that had been sitting 5 years ( owner died) .. His first trip out blew a steer in the middle of nowhere and wrecked fender as well as a expensive call out charge .. He later blew 3 of the drives in the next year sitting a long time is hard on tires I hear

I agree, plan is at least new steers. Not much tread left on any of them anyways and winter is coming. I'm already pricing name brand fronts. Not sure what I'm going to do for drives yet. I think I will find a trailer and then the tire budget will reaval its self.

I have now been informed about the timing of the gears from by buddie and understand. Sounds pretty straight forward.
I agree 100% about the steer tires! I also mostly agree about the drives but you can tear some stuff up if and when they let loose. Not sure how old is TOO old?
Thanks agian for all the help guys.Road Killer Thanks this. -

Sounds like a good deal for $13,000. Even if you had to put a whole new transmission in it it's still a low mile 1 owner truck and those don't come around every day.

Alright.... New steer tires, got a great deal on a set of Firestones.
New drivers side window seal installed. Cabin fan resister replaced. New driver door pull instaled. While I was at the dealer picking up parts they had a new take out seat for $200 that happen to match what I have. New fan belt instaled. Adjusted under bunk doors so they close easier. Checked for slopView attachment 111850 on the front king pins.... All good and hit them with some Greece while up in the air. New driver side wiper arm and blades. Cleaned and flushed the hoses and squiters for washer fluid. New washer tank cap. Pulled the 4 rear shockes off and got replacements but going to clean and paint frame before I put those back on.
Transmission.... Found the air moudual leaking some air as well as the syncro. Looking at over $1k in parts now so just going to put a reman in.
I think that's about it other than taking a look at the clutch once the trans is out. Also not sure about drive tires yet either.
Still no trailer decision made yet but a topic each and every day.singlescrewshaker, Ruthless, Road Killer and 3 others Thank this.
