New or old asked again

The coolant tank finally gave up. IT looked rough when I did the engine but wasn’t leaking so I rolled with it. New OEM tank, brackets and straps $650 delivered. About 2 1/2 hours to complete and an extra gallon of coolant.
Only required the simplest of hand tools and a clean 5 gal bucket.

 

So far this year I’m at $89k on 29k miles. Coming up on a year on the new motor. I’m taking next week off to get the truck cleaned and polished up. I’m going to pull the valve cover and do the overhead. My truck is telling me it’s time to stop for a week. Last couple of days I ripped a tread off a trailer tire ( my fault) had another tail lite failure and blew an airbag. I got a thousand other little things that need attention all the way around.

So after getting this coming week compleate it’s going in the shop.

After A few more. This tank didn’t come as clean as I had hoped but it’ll pass.
Before These steps were out of the local scrap pile. They look better and the quality is way better than anything you can get new nowadays. They are in rough shape but cleaned up ok. Definitely not new though. One done and one ready for sanding and polishing.
