Step all fixed up. Could probably use a new strap but I think I got it straight enough for what it is?![]()

In other news one of the things I really wanted to do when I got my new trailer was to reset the bearings. Well as I suspected since I didn’t do it , It started getting wear on 6 of the 8 tires. Finally jacked it up today and 3 of the 4 were visibly lose. And the one that was tight the tires are perfect. So much for 5 years maintenance free wheel ends?

Is that on your new trailer?jamespmack, BigBob410 and Oxbow Thank this.

Crap, that sucks. Now it's making me paranoid about my new one. Are your tires still good or are they trashed?Pamela1990, BigBob410 and Oxbow Thank this.

No there still good but clearly getting worn on the tires edges of 3 of the axle ends. I’ll post pictures when I get back to my trailer of what I’m talking about.
If you Jack up a wheel end and put a pry bar under it you can feel it. But, you shouldn’t be able to see it is my opinion.jamespmack, Oxbow, JoeyJunk and 4 others Thank this. -
Glad they are still good. For what Tires are costing these days....Gees. just sucks having to go through all that on a brand new trailer and all.Pamela1990, fordconvert, Nostalgic and 3 others Thank this.

They look like this. My opinion is this is absolutely loose wheel bearings.
Backed up by the fact the one that was tight had no irregular ware.
Rideandrepair, Pamela1990, BigBob410 and 5 others Thank this. -
Had a rental trailer doing that a while back ago. Never did get it fixed but took trailer back. I figured it needed to be aligned but now I know. Thanks for tipRideandrepair, Pamela1990, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this.

Alot of that wear pattern also has to do with tires turning alot. When you turn it wears the leading edges off. It is super noticeable on spread axles. Especially those with no dump valve.
Edit: so 1 out of 4 was tight?Rideandrepair and Pamela1990 Thank this.
