Chevron product code 235253, if anyone’s interested. Quick search pulls it up. I plan on doing my steers with it also. Have to use a non vented sealed hubcap.

You can usually choke the pump down up to about 1/3, or 30%? maybe. Depending on what the pump manufacturer says, using a 1/4 turn ball valve, after the shutoff valve, or just choke it back using the shutoff valve, without burning it up. Adding a larger pressure tank will help also, as a reserve. As long as you still have good flow, might be all you need. Well might just last forever, just needs a longer recovery time. A large holding tank can also be used. I doubt you’ll need that.BigBob410, Tug Toy and shooter19802003 Thank this.

That’s good. Only way to get at least 3-5 yrs of no A/C problems. Otherwise it’s something every year. Compressor, or Condensor or expansion valve. Mines been good for 5 yrs now, after replacing everything. New record. Even my almost new Truck didn’t last 5 yrs. without a couple compressors.77fib77, BigBob410, Tug Toy and 1 other person Thank this.

How do you get it in the hubs. Just take out that plug in the side of the cap and pump it in through there?77fib77, BigBob410, Tug Toy and 1 other person Thank this.

No, you have to pack each bearing, put some inside on races and spindle. Plenty of it. Then put some extra in the hubcap, about 1/3-1/2 full, before putting it on. Stemco or Timken has the procedures on their websites. One thing worth noting... Some of the original wheel ends using grease had a problem with the outer bearing getting rusty. The problem was traced to the outer bearing being smaller than the inner. That’s why newer hubs on newer trailers have larger outer bearings. As far as steers are concerned, my 99 had grease on the steers. Never had a problem. Ran it 875k miles.Oxbow, 77fib77, RedForeman and 3 others Thank this.

So, my new trailer has greased hubs. Never had greased hubs before. Do I need to ad any.....or is it just good to go? In light of Tugs discovery.....it's got me thinking. Mine is only about 8 months old or so now. I don't do a ton of miles, but .....it makes me anxious. Feels weird not doing anything to it.OLDSKOOLERnWV, BigBob410 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Mines an 08. It had 235k miles when I bought it, 5 yrs ago. I’ve put approximately 400k on it. I think you have at least 4-5 yrs. or more before worrying about it. That’s just my opinion. The actual suggested schedule may sooner. I’d see what Timken or Stemco suggests. Maybe the Trailer manufacturer. But Penske didn’t have a problem with 9 yrs. when they sold it. 9 yrs seems to be their longest selling point. In short, I don’t know.BigBob410 and shooter19802003 Thank this.
