I to replaced mine. I bought the Home Depot Lumber brand. It is more accurate than OEM but is hard to check while moving⛽

You can use the new gauge to beat off the women trying to climb up in that ride.

Drove the pi$$ out of it yesterday. Cruise set to 70 from Wyoming to Reno Nevada 909 miles. 5.93 mpg.

Loaded in Reno headed to El Paso Texas. Parked for the night in Vegas.

Vegas to El Paso with 45k on the deck 8.44 mpg. El Paso to Houston with 2 containers and about 50 miles with 43k worth of Crane mats 8.14 mpg. Driving with the pedal at about 60-65 mph. .27 cpm for total fuel so far. Truck still working ok. Picked up a small rear diff pinion seal leak. Ac not working, wiper squiters pluged agian, alt Bering growling a bit and the ####er boot is leaking hot air into the cab.
Over all not to bad for the first 4k miles.
Driving the company truck next week to California for a new coustemer I picked up the week before last. First run so I want to do it myself to make sure everything goes perfectly smooth.

After the last two fill ups I started wondering about my odometer reading right. So I kept track of my odo, gps, celect road relay and mile posts over 200 miles exactly. Gps was spot on, odo was about 1 mile short and celect was 2 miles short.

Driving up hwy 59 out of Houston with a heavy load then up to iowa only managed 6.86 mpg. So MY lifetime for the first couple of weeks is 7.01 mpg.

The 13 KW 680 13spd auto I drove before got 5.89 mpg from July to December. Go figure? And I tried pertty had to do a good job! The other 2 680's only average around 5 as best I can tell.

So, I scrambled to the yard in Illinois to pick up my new coustemers load. It was only a partial so I had them get something to go with it. They loaded it on another trailer. Well the first one was 15k lbs and the second was a ftl that was to be 33k lbs. guess what? Turned out to be 35k lbs plus. So can't scale with the KW 680. Load has to arive wendsday morning. Looks like I have to drive my truck. they loaded the 15k on the back and the 35k on the front. Spread open on a 53'. 34.5 on the trailer. image.jpg After a long conversation with the guy I'm leased to im going to go for it knowing I would be over on the trailer when I closed the spread in California. Hit California Tuesday night in my old international. Hid out in Barstow until 2am knowing I had to be in Escondido at 8 am but they have parking. Down the hill...... El Cajon closed...... Rainbow Open. 2300 over on trailer. Untarp load and move 23 96 lb sheets from the back to the front. 2 hours later and a weight ticket later on the road again. Made my appointment and unloaded new coustemer. Head to the border to unload second before noon. I arive and they say good we are going to check it here then you will need to take it a cross the border for delivery. Ah no!!! Ok drop your trailer and we will get someone to take it for you. Ah no!!!! Call broker and going to unload here. They only have little wherhouses forklift and no chains. Take the chain off..... 1 stack falls off the truck.... image.jpg
These things are like 200lbs a piece. Had to restack myself as to avoid a damage claim. Moved Up to a private lot in Oceanside California to park for the night image.jpg
In the morning I realize I'm sore as a mo fo and sun burnt from standing in the deck for 3 hours helping them unload. Up to Orange the next morning for granite slabs to Denver. Delivered this morning. image.jpg Beat feet to grand island Nebraska for my 34 and a pickup on Monday headded to the house for the rest of the week off. Well kind of, I have a long list of things to work on before I head back out.

I was really worried about driving my untested non compliant truck trough California and accross to Denver over the mountains but she did a great job!!!

So home since Tuesday morning. Came home and slept for most of the day till the wife got home from work them quality time with her.
Wendsday Worked on a few issues with the truck I had made a list for. Rear pinion seal leak, bearing on the accessory drive somewhere sloppy 5th wheel and fix the ac.
Pulled the 5tg wheel off and flipped it over, presure wash and adjust. Works good now. Had so much old grease it would not let the yolk slide forward to tighten the jaws. Replaced the 5th wheel bushings and pins. image.jpg image.jpg Replaced rear pinion seal and inspected the u joints all good. Fill with oil.
Pulled the fuel shut off solenoid off and cleaned up and re instaled. Don't know if it works better yet? image.jpg Found the growling noise in the front acc group. Thought it was the alt but it was both idler pullys. The one just fell apart when I took the belt off. Dealer wants over $400 for them. Ordered 3 bearings from McMaster Carr for $50. Good as new! image.jpg Going to put a new compressor and dryer on tomarow and change oil and a grease job then on the road agian Monday.
Oh found a bolt on one of the drive tires. Pulled it off and threw another on till we get it in and fixed.
Got to hang out with my best buddies all day too! image.jpg
