I will definitely have to look into that. I will be getting my Tank endorsement, doubles and triples as well as Hazmat endorsement as soon as I get my permanent Commercial license. I graduate in 25 days

What are minimum requirements for the operator/driver?
    • Must be at least 23 years of age, possessing a Class A CDL with HazMat (H) or combination (X) endorsement.
    • No more than two at-fault accidents and two motor vehicle violations within the previous 36 months, or no more than one at-fault accident and three motor vehicle violations during the previous 36 months.
    • No involvement in a preventable DOT recordable accident in the past 12 months.
    • Operators must have one year (six months for Expedited) of verifiable over-the-road driving (including snow and ice) within the past three years or three years verifiable experience in the last 10 years, of which six months must be within the previous 48 months, with a Class A (or Class B for Expedited) CDL using the type of equipment similar to what you will be operating at Landstar. No felony convictions within the past 7 years. All other felony and misdemeanor charges are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
    • I don't think you qualify for LS?

Yea that's basically how all companies are, that's why I'm going the route of my own authority. By the summer of 2017 I'll see how it's working out for me and then adjust accordingly. Thanks for all the info you've been supplying me with. It's been very helpful

You can easily bs your way into being leased on. Just tell them you've been driving for your dad the last 5 yrs or so and have him back you up if they call.

There are way around to getting things done-that;s what being an O/O is about.

Thanks to everyone who posted or responded to my post. I passed on the 2004 reefer. Instead I'm On my way to Clifton NJ to pick up a 2014 Utility VS2 dryvan, stainless steel front and rear, aluminum durabrite rims all the way around it. I figured being new to the business it'd be best to start out with a dry Van

Yessir my business has expanded greatly. I just purchased another trailer, I've upgraded and customized my truck and my dryvan trailer. I currently have a dedicated contract running 432 miles a day, $3 a mile for all miles after tolls...2 round trips but only loaded 1 way. Home everyday buy 2pm
