How much money should you put away each month for maintenance? This is more on the side if my truck doesn't need anything major done in the month and everything goes well. Thanks

I put 10% of gross away for maintenance and repairs.

You guys go thru over a $1,000 a month in maintenance?
-
For me, it is a maintenance/repairs/equipment upgrade account. The 10% gross I'm putting into the account just grows and is used as needed.

On average, the maintenance and repair costs for a truck runs around 12 - 15K per year. Some years may be more, some less but it averages out in that range.stayinback, CruisingAlong and jctrucker110 Thank this.

Cut that by 60% if you do your own work. I average 4-500 per month on maintenancebowhunter67 and jctrucker110 Thank this.

Depends on how old the truck is. The older the truck the more you will need.

I put away .08 cpm for my 2012. The only real repairs I have had were a broken belt on the road and servicing the emission system at its regular interval. If you put aside .08-.10 cpm I don't think you'll have many surprises.

I have had my truck for a week. So far the only maintenance funds I have needed was the $180 for a load lock holder. $240 for load locks, and $9100 for the APU. So from my experience, $10,000 a week is about right. Now let's bow our heads and pray I am wrong.
