The last 2 times I t-called a load in Columbus I was out of there with another load BEFORE any of the driver's hanging around the driver's lounge (who were there when I arrived).
And I seem to see the same group of drivers in the smoking area EVERY TIME I'm at the PXH terminal.

Yep ... tcalled lottsa times, gone in grabbed a load and the usual cast of lounge rats are in there whinning about how they've been "stuck" for 2,3,4 days without a "decent" load.

I went into Denver on a Sunday afternoon... Chatted with one driver laughed at the thought of getting a load out... Ten mins later I was walking out the door, "Bye, heading to Tipton, GA!" Look on his face was priceless!

I've noticed that when I get into certain planner's areas they RUN MY A S S OFF! Makes me think that they keep a list of trucks that perform well in the past. I'd LOVE to see a map woth planning area boundries.

They have them, talk to a driver manager... I've started to learn which planning area I'm in... Anytime I hit Memphis or PHX area, I usually don't get a preplan untill after Im empty... One reason why I love Mac 30!! I wish I had this tool in my bag from the beginning!

Somebody probably said this already, but when you refuse a load, you get placed at the bottom of the list of available trucks. Turn down a load in Laredo or one of the other terminals with lots of drivers coming in, yea, you're gonna sit for a while. Better IMO to take even a short bs run and go, 'cause you won't make anything sitting. One other trick is to always make sure your PTA is the earliest you can possibly make it. Plus one usually sets it for an hour or two past your appt. time. If you deliver early, msg your DM and have them change your PTA to as early as they can set it. Dispatches go by earliest PTA first, and you could move yourself up the list several places easily. This could be a lifesaver if there isn't much freight where your at.
B*Rocka Thanks this. -
Please tell me more about your work ethic. I want to average that when I start driving. #IJS
