Completed Prime PSD, Permit, obtained CDL'S.

Went out on TNT training for approximately 10 days, completing around 95k of the required 30k.

Trainer (Lease.Owner Operator) went home for "2 weeks"

I was told I HAD to go back to my home state to change my CDL'S from Missouri to Alabama.

As I'm juggling with creditors, made some payments, arrangements etc.

Trainer texted me and told me, it would be 5 September before he leaves home and that he didn't know when he would be able to pick me up, as it would depend upon how freight / loads was running?

Then he texted me and informed me of same, except date would now be the 6th before he left home?

Today the same, but now it will be the 7th before he leaves home?

Sooooooo, I'm looking at least two weeks, possibly three, and potentially four weeks NPD, No Pay Due.

Meanwhile the clock is ticking on the 90 use or lose option with Now's IF I don't time it correctly.

    Suggestions, recommendations, advice?

    Thanks

Call your office. Call them now. If you're being hung out to dry by your trainer the company needs to know.

Call your company. Why are you waiting on this Yahoo to finish his vacation? Successful truck drivers are, by necessity, proactive when it comes to getting the job done and making money. If you need some one to constantly be telling you what to do and when to do it, you're better off working in a factory or a restaurant or something.

Yes, call Prime and say you've been abandoned in Alabama and will find a new job within 24 hours if a truck doesn't swing by your house and pick you up. Tell them being abandoned isn't in your contract, so if they can't uphold their end of the contract, you will be moving on within 24 hours.
Are you at home in Alabama right now?
Your trainer thinks he's a big shot owner-operator, but he's not. He's a lease-purchase driver and knows nothing about being an owner-operator.
Drop some online applications right now and probably find a new job in a couple of hours; better than Prime.

I've called Prime, got the switchboard, an operator, and some pretty good soft rock and roll music. Other than that? Crickets, even though I was supposed to be patched through to their supervisor.

Probably waited too long into the day and weekend to get with any of the decisions makers and shakers being it's Labor Day weekend.

Looking for other "opportunities" is exactly what has been on my mind. And I already know I'm on fairly solid ground for breach of contract. I'm not too worried about that at the moment.

I'm going to begin putting out some feelers. Can't hurt ANYTHING.

And yes I've got a pretty picture in my head, that my lease operator trainer is FULL of it, as he likes talking about "take home " pay of $4k to $6k.

I'm new to trucking, but I'm also a retired U.S Marine and a Business Admin. Finance major .

I've heard plenty of B.S. in my time in the Corps, and the "Numbers" just don't add up, what with overhead , out of pocket expenses, taxes, ~ SOMETHING or SOMEONE is going unpaid?

    Are you near Birmingham?
Beelman Truck Company in Montevallo might hire you.

Being a retired Marine gives you a good chance of being hired with many companies that normally want experience. Mention that when you talk to someone at any company.

Honestly something is seriously wrong here. Big time disconnect. If Prime is not interested go find another company! I think @Chinatown is giving you some great options.

I thought that Prime had people who worked with new drivers?

    Or am I thinking that's a fallacy?
