I can't tell you about the tanker side - I pull a reefer. There were quite a few used tractors set up for tankers and flatbeds when I leased my Cascadia last month. The standard company health insurance offering can be purchased on the lease side as well. The monthly price I'm paying for BCBS of MO is about the same as I was paying for my own Aetna coverage a few years ago.

If you look for U2_exit - his posts in the "company dac reports" section have quite a bit about training pay, and what to expect on the company side after training. Again he's a reefer guy too.

Just curious, I've searched around a bit.. I'm helping my buddy out and seeing if any of the starter companys will take him.. He has a very recent abandoning and uncomplete lease on his dac.. Would prime take him? Maybe make him do schooling all over again? He has 13 months otr. Thanks.

I suppose it depends on the circumstances... call recruiting and pose the question. If he can explain it in a way that works, he may have a chance. Considering the way some of these companies work, it's understandable how that happens.

Just talked to a guy at the terminal who had a roommate for orientation that had an abandonment issue. Prime recruiter told him it was fine, but the guy got let go at the interview process when he arrived.

Now, that said, the guy could be using the abandonment story to cover for something embarrassing that really got him let go...

Oh yeah, I hear ya. I appreciate the info.. I looked at primes web site and it clearly states no abandonment. So we'll keep searchin for him.. I know his situation and abandonment it a little over the top.. But hey, just gotta deal with the lemons. Thanks for the info.
