I read they give you questionable motel room. Don't take any valuables. :biggrin_25526:

My biggest concern, and the one thing that may have me try someone else, is their limited freight base in Albuquerque. In the next couple of years we hope to move to Phoenix which has a great freight base for them (from what they tell me), but that does me know good now. I would have to d/h 300+ miles for outbound freight. Those are miles that I receive no revenue for and it could be in the neighborhood of $200.00 per trip or possibly $2,400.00 a year. They say that the inbound Albuquerque rates are higher to help offset that cost, but I do not know if I care to risk it.

Don't get me wrong, I really want to make it work going to Prime. My recruiter has been excellent. She has even brought four different managers into the discussion to make sure I have all the information I need to make an informed decision. If I decide Prime is not going to work, I will feel real bad having to tell her "no thanks" after all she has done.

imo, that is probally true with any/all carrier's .

there are certain cities that are hubs, and others are inbound.

That is true. The other wo companies I am looking at both have good in and out freight. Biggest problem with Albuquerque is it is a consumer city rather than a manufacturing city. Best outbound customer seems to be General Mills; Werner hauls most of their loas.

    Hi All,

Just recieved the "Call to Duty" from Tina at Prime today. Looks like I will be going to Springfield on the 15th at 0700. This is great news, can't wait to start my training and get out and meet as many of you as possible. You have all been great with the information, and yes, I am still reading. Allot of information on this site.

You guys should all get together and write a book. Get Denzell to do the movie :biggrin_25514:

    Hi Nick352...

I used to work with a guy who has driven for Prime, and his wife still does (as a trainer, I think). Says they would be a good place to start out with.

I live in NE Kansas, so Springfield might be where I would go if I took Prime.

    That'd be great! :)

Keep us up to date and take care.

Wife and I are looking into possible lease with prime and I was wondering what the 90 days you speak of is for? Also in your opinion, with the way the economy and fuel prices are, do you think a team can net more than $2000 weekly? What is the procedure for lease. I have 18 yrs exp, and wife has 5yrs.

    Thanks!
