After years of dealing with a/c, can someone explain to me how low freon causes the condenser to freeze?
This is a classic problem with drainage and possibly a problem with an expansion valve.pete1 Thanks this. -
I would say yes on a plugged drain but........
Did you check the fuse for A/C and when on does the compressor spin?
On my DD the compressor seal went bad and let all the gas out.

Depending on the type of a/c system, it could also be a clogged CCOT tube can be a problem, if it is plugged up as well. Once the a/c is shut off, the CCOT tube defrosts the crap inside, and starts all over again. Not sure however if a CCOT tube is used in truck a/c systems.
CCOT, (Cycling clutch orifice tube)
Best as said he takes it to a dealer, the truck stop grease monkeys don't really know how to diagnose, and will be parts replacers instead.pete1 Thanks this. -
Pretty sure there are bugs in my truck. I wake up every morning with little bites on me. So I am probably eating some of them. Yummy.

So far, the trucks AC is working great today. I left it off last night while sleeping. Maybe it just needed a break?
-
Bedbugs? Where did you get this junk pile?
-
Didn't you hear about my VIN number? 666? It came from hell. I'm just waiting for it to explode.pete1 Thanks this.

Lol. At least you have a good attitude about it. Did you figure out your AC?
I seem to remember having problems with drainage in a truck I had- the ports were all full of junk. They were on the passenger side under the cab. But it wasn't freezing up. It needed to be charged.
Some of these guys seem to know more about it than I do..... -
So far the AC today is working fine with no puddles. The water shows up when the AC starts blowing warm. Can't seem to locate the drain tube though. If it keeps going like this, and if when I attach to a new trailer I have the same shaking issue, I'm heading back to my home terminal and they can fix it. Can't really afford that now but I can't drive in the middle of summer with no AC and a truck that's shaking like an earthquake. Never mind the bed bugs. And the shifter that feels like I'm banging on rocks with a hammer while shifting. Those are whole other issues i'm gonna have to deal with eventually. They said the first year is the worst. So far, they are correct. This is only my second week!
