I'm linehaul. I'm looking into that and the Wal Mart account after the first six months or so. I figure it's good experience to go OTR a while then figure out what else might be good.

    Thanks guys :biggrin_255:

Hmmm... I'm going to have to keep this post handy. I see a lot of drivers out with those bluetooth headsets at truckstops. I used to dabble with them when I was a teenager but that was a long while ago...

I think the friendly and straightforward posters here definitely outweigh the sort of normal allotment or disgruntled / ax-grinding posters found in webside forums. I'm really glad I found this place in my research into trucking as a new career.

I have my truck # but do not know what it is. It has the new QC unit in it and they have it for me at Edwardsville. It's a 3-series # (i.e., 3xxxxx) and odds are it's an '04 Century. I hope it has the Wabasto and that the truck will be clean and reliable for me.

    I hope it is, too.

Hey Jason, do you remember when you got your welcome packet before you went to Orientation? It is one week before I am to check into my hotel and they told me it should be in anytime. I did call the recruiter today and left a message on voice mail, but was not called back. I will try them again Monday, but if you could give me an idea of when you received yours, and if it was email or snail mail, I would really appreciate it.

    Take care.

Are you expecting a package in the mail? Reason why I'm asking is I got everything emailed to me.

I'll bet there isn't a Webasto in that one. But one nice thing about it, being an older truck, you may get a brandy new, shiny, never touched by human hands one soon.:biggrin_255:

But keep your mitts off my Volvo!!:biggrin_2559:

I thought it would probably come email, but I wasn't for sure. They have my address because I have had email correspondence with the recruiter already, just not on the final package.

Thanks for your assurance. I feel like I chose a good first company. It was hard for me to turn down their Regional offer compared to what Roehl offered me. I was supposed to start orientation with Roehl on Monday. When I called them and turned down the offer, I only got voicemail. I offered for the recruiter to call me back if she had any questions. I was surprised that she never called to ask me anything after what I heard about recruiters getting paid for all new folks they bring in.

Very true! My TE's truck was an '02 FL and it didn't have one... he was looking forward to a new truck, too. I will take it and be good to it. It needs an alignment, though. I satisfied my curiosity and checked it out last night.
