I was glad to get away from that beep on the qualcomm if you went over speed. Now you will have messages coming up saying to slow down. Now that's a little bit too much.

Some companies use it and some don't. Everyone is right that it has been around for years. It is why your dispatcher can get a call about where the load is and tell them where you are. The more you use, the more it costs for the company so not everyone uses all the features. 20 years ago my dispatcher at swift called me over and asked me to look at something. He said "you know the fastest route from LA to Phoenix?" I said "of course, right up the interstate". He said "then why do you think this guy is in Las Vegas right now?"

A few years ago I was in the office of where I worked when one of the puters beeped and opened a window. Turns out the driver of trk123 just went 20 over on a downhill and the Q/C warned despatch in real time. They called that driver in to safety for a bad BAD driver.

Yep, wouldn't be surprised if Ray and the boys in Lahood make it mandatory that every speeding violation is sent in electronically to them so it can be assessed against a company and driver in the almighty CSA clearing house.
