It's all about controlling and influencing driver habits for fuel consumption savings. May has been very proactive with this for some time now but especially the past year or so. A 1/10th per mile increase on their whole fleet nets them many millions of dollars per year profit. That's why they are implementing these software monitoring programs into SensorTracs in addition to putting more and more pressure on the driver to utilize proper driving/shifting techniques "or else."
I'm aware of zone r. My truck doesn't have it yet but this is an actual update on the qc. Glad you enjoy your truck but I love my 2013 pete.
all the oil fields trucks have it already, its about the size of a prepass and its a gps too, example, say im driving 55 and enter a 35 mph zone a little red light goes of and a voice tells me ive entered a speed zone and slow down, then you've got a few seconds to slow down, if u dont a message is sent to the company, too many message's and you're fired. It all boils down to insurance companys, there the one installing them because if the company can get rid of aggresive drivers the rates go down
Hey joker... I would have loved that Pete, but since I am a newb I think I got pretty lucky,,,, BTW let me know when ur in Brooks so we can trade... Lol
Yes, it is. If they thought they could get away with turning the trucks down to 50 mph they'd do it. I mean just look at how much time is allotted per dispatch at May. 50 mph limits would do it.
