General did the same to me on a CAC. They wanted me to pay shipping, buy another and wait for a possible credit. Said it needed to be inspected by the original Manufacturer. They’re ad claims they are the Manufacturer. Detroit was known for building their own good quality products. However they were out of stock, waiting on a shipment 2 months out. I went with Radiator Works. They were great. Since bought by LKO. Bought a condenser from them, price was even less through LKO. Bought my Radiator from American Radiator a couple years back. Website www.coolingsolutions.com. IMO they’re currently the best quality and price. Also replaced CAC again. Avtek brand. Super heavy duty. Bought it at Superior Diesel in Detroit. Good product, price and Customer Service.

Frankly, If I were to do it again I'd of kept the original and just had it recored. Did you mean LKQ? I feel like they're buying up everything in sight.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

LKQ. I bought my last 2 condensers from them. Big warehouse In Romulus Mi. They also distribute through keystone auto parts. I picked one up at Keystone in Cullman Al.Last edited: Feb 25, 2025

Detroit Radiator was a two shop operation for decades and they were bought out by some cheesy crap company and dropped their other work to focus on HD radiators. They stood by their work but the last time I bought anything from them, they all leaked.

Very disappointing. Better off getting them redone by a good shop. There's a place near me in Hubbard OH called Joe's and I wish I would have just taken my original to them from the start. Live and learn.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
