Kind of sounds reversed to me?....I'm not sure i understand what he wrote or he was thinking backwards.

Ok.....looks like he set it up for low power to be a 2 watt dead key with 50+ PEP
On high the Modulation is down.......?

I would call and have him explain it.

he is talking about deadkey, lo should be 2watt deadkey with 50+watt swing, more/louder audio, high should be 10watt deadkey with 50+watt swing, not as loud. If he knows what he is doing, run it on lo all the time and it wont matter if you are 2 ft away or 2 miles away it should sound the same as far as clarity, and loud.

I think he said something about swing kit, if so it may not be as clear close to someone on low power. I dont believe in swing kits, that radio can be tuned without adding a bunch of junk to it. but his swing lit maybe something other than what i know them as, plug it up, try it out and see what it does.

I'd run it on low at ALL times! 10 watts deadkey is too much. 2w is just right.

I'd love to see how nasty that 2:50 swing looks on a spectrum analyzer. I'd be surprised if he's putting 10-15 watts in channel. The rest is getting splattered all over the place.

That's probably why the instructions say to use the 10W setting for local use. The splatter is likely blowing through the filters in the front end of the local receivers, making the signal sound worse.

EZ Money and n9mxq Thank this.
