With your background I believe you're looking in the wrong place for employment. You'd be in a group of very few to make 50K out of the gate. I would put together a resume and go after any and all industries. Apply for the safety department and better yet apply for the personal protection side. I know the people that work with PPE and they all make good money. You have the training so why not use it? Try for the nuclear industry and you'll be fat dumb and happy ( just an expression). Forget the 50K and go for the six digits, you have the skill.

I agree and strongly so as most are in the scrape & get by - when someone starts with good numbers there are usually safety issues involved that are indelicate to discuss, this person really needs to transition from office to driving based on hiring at a trucking company of any kind or doing local / city to get a grasp of what the "challenges" are ....

I really loath backing in City Delivery ~ he should to but needs to do that b4 claiming skill backing to dock

I was wondering how long would it take to hit 50k gross a year as a truck driver. I am getting my CDL now.

I saw a listing, sure it was job listings here, that shows average / typical income by state for cdl drivers -- varies much so is worth finding. Put effort into finding companies - while you drive - as anyone who pays well may expect people to find them rather than other way around.
