SO far my 2016 reitnour is holding up well. not so good for others. 1 of our drivers had all 4 of his aluminum L brackets crack. right in front of both rear axles. the owner of a local co that has about 12 reitnour's has had dozens of bolts broken in that same area.
my friend dropped his trailer off at a reitnour dealer in Birmingham AL. it has been there for more than 2 weeks. they say they are waiting on back ordered brackets from reitnour. the old style had a steel type plate attached to the aluminum frame. mine, ours has an aluminum brackets. the new 2017 has the new updated fix. I am told I can get mine upgraded before they crack as long as I take to a authorized reitnour dealer. the new fix consist of more bolts (10) I have 8 & thicker longer aluminum brackets.
when I talk to our driver I am going to ask if by chance he took any pic's. if so I will try & get & post.
new reitnour mfr defects!

Glad to read they are taking care of the problem, But with the down time are they making that right with all the people.
Even a fleet having trls. parked are losing moneytsavory Thanks this. -
that's my question on the downtime? should at least loan a trailer until it can be fixed. my friend really had bad luck although he has another truck & trailer with a driver running loads, his truck went down about a week after his trailer was dropped off. said he used 4 gallons of oil in about 200 miles. engine is down now. as far as reitnour, I thought they would of had the best engineers, & used computer models on where to put these brackets, the design of brackets, the shape, type of metal, where the stress is put on the trailer, e.t.c. I mean they changed the way it is bolted from the old style, why ? don't know I figured it has to be an improvement if not then why change it?passingthru69 Thanks this.

I think they changed from the welded steel to the aluminum L bracket to help with corrosion. The 07 I bought has some there as it is steel to aluminum. There is some sort of liner or pad in there. A lot of the trailers I looked at this was a problem.
We bought a new one in December, it was dog tracking at least 10". I was disappointed to say the least in fit and finish of a $45k trailer that is supost to be the "gold standard".Klleetrucking and whoopNride Thank this. -
This is one of the reasons I don't like aluminum trailers. The flex is another big one.
Good luck, I hope it works out in your favour! -
My revolution gas been great. Just two electrical issues that were easily fixed.. They really paid attention to anywhere that there could be corrosion. For example between the suspension hangers to the frame and the 5th wheel plate to the frame they put some special black plastic. I haven't seen any other trailer make do this. Look at any aluminum trailer that's a few years old and you will see white corrosion between the 5th wheel plate and the frame.. Some will start rust jacking bending the plate.

The wiring for the licence plate light seems to be too short on some of them. They come unplugged and short out the rear marker and tail lights. I just ran into two trailers back to back that did this but didn't think to check the year, maybe two years old.

Mac does the same wherever steel and aluminum meet they have some kind of plastic between them.
