In Canada we don't pay taxes on winnings.... but when you go to get ownership for the trailer you will have to pay the taxes on the unit (13% - retail sales tax) .... That's what sucks about the U.S you guys have to pay lots of taxes on lottery winnings.. We don't pay anything.. But then again Ontario we get taxes to death on our pay checks lol.. So you never win with any government...

 

Wonder if I can take the cash option... Then I can order one for my cost and pocket a few grand

 

Sold the boat this month WCP. Owner buying my parents house wanted the boat and offered my dad and I a good deal we could not refuse.

Like some of us living payckeck to paycheck, I could not afford the taxes on the new trailer. Who knows, I may win it, but I seriously doubt it.

By the good thing KH is that a bank will loan you the money to pay the taxes. They don't mind givj g out $5,000 cash and getting the title for a $40k trailer.

Buddy of mine won a new Aston Martin from the Casino. Taxes were $8,300 on it and then bank gave him the money, no questions, seeing the car was worth $85k. An he had like a 400 credit score.

He went to a local dealer and sold it to them for $60k and walked away happy.

 

Yep.....But you won't see me selling a brand new Step.....Taxes or no....It'll make enough money to do what I want......

 

For $85,00 he didn't get the whole car.

 

Yeah it was $185k not $85k. I thought $85k was low so I called him. He got $160k cash from Continental Motorsports in Melrose Park, IL and he bought a house and paid off all his bills. He is one lucky SOB because a few years before that he won a Harley in the Fire Depts raffle.

 

If I win I will sell it to the first guy who shows up with cash. You pay the taxes and give me $20,000 and that baby is yours. I will even throw in a full set of wallboard tarps and three torn straps.
