New Roehl driver with questions.

I met a trainer a few months after I started. He said they asked him to put a camera in his truck so they could "see" what trainees were doing. He said fine, but when I am alone, I will be driving in my underwear. He didn't get a camera and quit training soon after. Still see him once in awhile.

 

See, this is how bs rumors start. NOT all trucks. Mostly ones with what they consider a problem driver.

 

What someone sitting at a desk considers a "problem driver." Never ceases to amaze me how dumb college educated people can be.

 

That's why I worded it the way I did. Same with fuel mileage. They need to take some physics courses. Just because a route has less miles doesn't mean it will use less fuel.

 

EXACTLY!! That's for sure!!

 

My experiences with Roehl during the last 10 weeks have been good. They assigned a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia to me. It's a great truck in my opinion. The people that I have interacted with were all helpful. Of course, everyone is busy, busy, so there's not time for "bonding" if that's important to you. It's all about picking up and delivering the freight safely and on time and making a money in the process which, in my view, is a good thing. I don't, however, know yet how the fuel bonus program works. The mpg goal set for me seems unrealistic. My actual mpg is coming nowhere close to that number. Under load in East Texas, I barely make 6 mpg while MT mpg may go as high as 7.8 mpg. Yet, my target is set at 7.89. But, at this point, I don't even think about it as I am making every effort to be there early for my next appointment!

 

Oh yes, I don't have a camera in my truck either (at least, not yet!).

 

And in 4 1/2 months, camera is gone. Show them you drive safely, be ###### what a sensor says, and they leave you alone.

 

Your a better man than I am...I would quit!

 

You believe our dispatchers all have college degrees? It's not even a requirement on the job description.
