I agree. I wear work boots in the winter and in the summer I wear a safety sneaker, that has a composite safety toe.Feedman, hope not dumb twucker and BrothaTrucka513 Thank this.

I get wanting to be comfortable and not get the side eye, but flip flops aren’t really the safest choice. Footwear isn’t usually restricted just for driving or fueling, but safety rules still matter. OSHA standards say you need protective shoes in areas where you could get hit by something, step on something sharp, or run into other hazards. That includes loading docks, maintenance spots, and warehouses.
Even at the pump, it’s worth thinking about protection. There are some work-style sandals that have a closed toe and thicker sole, so you can stay casual without risking a smashed foot.86scotty Thanks this. -
Years ago Pennsylvania had a law requiring truck drivers to wear a shoe with a heel. I don’t know if the law still existsMACK E-6, OldeSkool, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah, I’ve heard about that old PA rule about wearing shoes with a heel. Not sure if it’s still on the books, but at the end of the day, it’s all about keeping your toes safe. Drop something or step on a nail in flip-flops, and you’re in trouble fast.
A good closed-toe work sandal lets you stay comfy at the pump without risking a mashed foot.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
The best is watching them at the fuel island when it’s -30 up here, hopping around trying to keep them toe toe’s from falling off.
