I'm a company driver and I manage my time as I see fit ..... I don't see what difference it makes whether you're a company driver or not. Every person knows him/herself. They know the limits. The company can not force any driver to work if they don't feel well enough to drive, or too tired. People only get abised of they allow

The problem is new drivers that are changed out every 90 days for one reason or another.
If they are going to the idea that the FMCSA rules aren't working as they are & that there is another problem (unsafe drivers) that is causing a rise in accidents, whats going to happen is, they are going to require more training. Its going to end up something like this: minimum school 6 months & minimum OJT 6 - 12 months with a trainer.
Swift & Wal-Mart will end up with hundreds of people in each class. They will have class for a week & OJT for a week & that will make up the school training. That way they can hold 2 classes during the same 6 months.
They will have schools near DC's & figure out what driver is going to be at the DC near by & assign each student to a driver. All mega drivers will eventually be a trainer. That way, they can roll out 1000 greenhorns ever 6 months. Then they will have to be assigned a driver trainer for another 6 - 12 months.

    RussianBearTruckeR Thanks this.

Any arbitrary game you played was in your own mind.

395 does not mandate how much you accomplish, it does not mandate full usage, it does not do anything other than limit your driving time on a public roadway, and mandate an opportunity to get proper rest.

All the bs about how tight a day is, is simply a fabrication of truth(myth). Stupid myths like this earned you a mandatory 30 minute break last time. Keep lying we dont have enough stupid rules for stupid people yet~/sarcasm

So General Motors set a plan that caused you stress. Glad you are finally admitting the truth.

Let’s say Dvrichky comes to America and gets a 2 year work visa and buys his own truck and is now an owner operator,
Since he’s away from home and lives in his truck and is an owner operator, should he be allowed to drive all day and night? Only taking a cat nap when he can’t stay awake a second longer.
    Or,
Should there be some system in place that limits his drive hours and provides him time to sleep?
