If you have $30k to buy a new 40-45 foot step deck trailer what manufacture would it be? Type of material does not matter. Weight is not an issue. The trailer could weight 25,000 pounds and I would be fine with it. We have 2 transcraft trailers now that are 11 years old, spring ride that are 40 foot long and they do the job very well but we had to reinforce the neck because it developed a crack there.

Try a lodeking. I've had 5 of them now and never an issue. They are made in Canada , so that would be to your benefit because of our weak dollar.
They will custom build you any length you like. Very strong trailer with exceptional wiring. Built for the harsh canadian winters.taxihacker66 and GoldenLad Thank this. -
Just curious why is weight not an issue?
If it weighed 25k and your truck and gear weighs close to 20k that only leaves 35k for cargo. Do you have specific cargo you plan on hauling that is light or something? -
Are you looking for a gooseneck trailer to pull with a dually or a standard fifth wheel trailer?
-
Got to be fifth. No goosenecks cost that much

5th wheel. The loads that I haul depend directly on how much weight I want to put on the trailer. I know it sounds goofy. Once the trailer is loaded the only time it is unloaded is when we have to take weight off of it to get the trailer worked on. The way we operate is very hard on trailers. We do have one step deck, early 2000's model, can't remember the manufacture but it is starting to bow downwards from the weight on it. My company is going to buy three more trailers and I was asked to help spec them. I am trying to find a trailer that will stand up to a constant load being on it and that will survive that for the life of the trailer hoping that the life of the trailer will be more than 15 years.
