I've never driven a big truck in town, but I've driven an extended 48' Eagle Tour Bus all over the country including New York City. It was the old five speed and you had to feather the gears. The first time I drove that big thing through the city, the pucker factor was rising. I mean my rear end was bitin' button holes in my underwear. :mshocked:

Then after doing it awhile and getting the feel of how things worked in corners, and how gears and engine touque can speed you up and slow you down, you learn to let the engine and gears do the work for you. It takes time to feel comfortable, but when your skill level builds, you will have more time to think safety and less worry about gears and such because it will become second nature. Keep your chin up, and good luck!!!
