There's bunch of guys on here that lived in the Orient and have Oriental wives. Hope you get hired by a company that lets you take your wife with you. My little wifey rode with me and enjoyed seeing America.

What?...poverty and run down neighborhoods in America? Never heard of such!

Put some info. on "Questions from new drivers" thread for more feedback.

Hey Chinatown! Thanks for the feedback, I have read some of your posts I believe as I am reading "OpenRoadGuy"s post for "Wannabe Driver" awesome thread for sure! My wife is getting her second Master's Degree in Nursing to me a C.R.N.A (First degree was in English language go figure) but she has another year left which means yes I will be taking her on the road in about 6 months!! I am happy and so is she that we can "tour" the U.S.A like we did Japan,South Korea, Taiwan,Cambodia,Laos, Hong Kong and Thailand! We are so looking forward to it. I meanI have been to AZ,Mi-FL and all the states in between, NYC via MI-Canada but other then that there are tons of states I myself have yet to go through! Please remember I grew up partying in Detroit lol! The king of burned down ,Poverty stricken cities at it's finest (finest?? finest? lol!) I love me some Asia but it is time I venture out and see the rest of our fine country here, and I am very happy to have found this as just reading the last 48 hours I have tore up 3 applications of places I would never even think of applying after reading the horror stories on here! I am going to apply to Schneider,Werning, and Steven's as they best fit my needs, I am going to do OTR for the first year to rack up the miles/experience and then I will do Regional, hell I may start of regional as there is an opening for recent grads on one of them companies for regional so I am for sure going to try and snag that job. Thanks for the reply and I will post in the "Questions from new drivers" are as well thanks!

Seems like an interesting life; much better than a tree that is rooted and only knows its immediate environment. I tried factory work early on in a couple of places, and knew that type of work is slow suicide. Friends of mine have done that and pretty much stayed in the local area all their life & don't seem interested in seeing anything else. What a boring life that would be for me. I don't even keep the same wife too long, except this one, she's a keeper. Guess my age is catching up, this one's 30 years younger. My wife has her MBA, but stopped there after having 2 babies.

When you check for companies, see if they let your wife ride with you. If necessary, you can change jobs after she graduates. Stevens has top-of-the-line equipment with APU's. Schneider has divisions of everything; van, flatbed, tanker, etc. Werner has reefer, van, flatbed. Don't think Werner or Schneider have APU's. You will probably get some good tips on here from the other drivers also. Best wishes.

Hey there great to know! So basically if I go with Werner or Schneider I will either freeze my balls off or sweat shop whenever I stop to sleep? Thanks for that little bit of info! Where is your wife from if you don't mind my asking? My wife is Thai but her father is half Chinese so she is chinese-Thai or "Chai" lol

She's Han Chinese from a little fishing village, but educated at a university in Beijing. Was a banker & stockbroker when I met her. She does day trading now from home on the Chinese exchanges.

I think Schneider & Werner have temperature parameters where you can idle, but not as convienient as with an APU.
