New Tanker Yanker Here

Today was the last day of Orientation! I start Tomorrow!! 4am Sharp! Got a big suprise today! A sign on Bonus!!! Was not expecting it nor was I told anything about a bonus! $1000 check in my hand today at 9:30 am after we were released from orientation. Then was told will get another $500 next Friday! Man the surprises just keep on coming! I like the atmosphere so far & the people. Every Dupre driver I've ever encounter & asked how they like it I've always heard good things. I really believe I will like it here & hope I can make this my last company til I retire!

 

Nooo way! Not in this lifetime!

 

First 2 days of training have been AWESOME! Man this is some of the easiest money I've made in my life! All we do all day is deliver empty containers to warehouses to load & bring a pre loaded container back to our yard & another company picks up the loaded containers & deliver them to the ports or shipyards. So it's only drop & hook all day! 2 of the warehouses that we work with are on the same street that our yard is on litterally 1 mile up the road. The other one is like 10 miles up the road. There are 2 other ones that we go to as well but I haven't been to those locations as of yet. 1 of them being the plant DOW Plaquemine, La which I need to get clearance to go into. So litterally I never have to drive more than 10 miles one way. All day back & forth & we never have to wait on a load to be loaded. If there are no empties available or no loaded trailers to bring back we still get paid either way. We also have Guarantee pay of $800 weekly regardless of what happens. Man I'm loving the job so far! Couldn't ask for better & getting to see the kids every night is a huge blessing! Never knew how much I valued hometime until I went over the road!
