    Hey everyone-

My partner and I are entertaining the idea of becoming a driving team. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for companies that will bring on a new, inexperienced team together?

We do not currently possess CDLs so would like to sign on with a company that does training. We both have experience driving oversized vehicles such as box trucks, service body vans, and pulling trailers with equipment working in the plumbing and mechanical services trades for the past decade.

My father was a trucker for over 30 years and I used to ride with him in my teens when I was out of school for summer. That said, I have some idea of what the industry has to offer and have always wanted to give it a try. My partner has also expressed interest so we thought doing it as a team would be a great experience and career opportunity for us both.

Also, we have a dog so a company with a policy that allows a pet in the truck would be great as well.

We are located in SC but are willing to relocate as long as we stay in the south east. Preferably SC, NC, GA, or LA.

    Thanks!

CR England is a good outfit to train teams. They'll train you & partner at the same time in the same truck.
It's a reefer outfit, so the money will be really good. The trucks are set up for 3 people for cdl training purposes.

You won't have to relocate, except for KLLM.

This one might work for you if you relocate to one of the states listed here:
"Our two Class-A CDL school/academy locations serve entry-level students with no permit from Mississippi, Louisiana, Illinois, and Indiana along with permit holders from Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia, and Pennsylvania."
    Bring the dog!

If you contact any of these companies, double check on the pet policy and team driving.

You can also use a friends address in another state. You'll also have to change your drivers license to the new address in order for the trucking company to know you're in the hiring area.
