new tie rod ends

    If the tires run true you don't need to do the stripe. You go by the center tread.

    No tire runs true, not 100% true. If the tread wavers 1/8", you could be off on toe by 1/4" on your settings while showing correct measurements.

    I appreciate the help. I will have to take it in. with the pro & con for & against doing it myself, it's a coin toss. I guess I rather waste the money on alignment then waste the money on 2 new steers. I still do not understand the procedure. toe in or out, have no idea what that is. if it's a part or measurement. told you I cannot grasp the concept by reading, only by watching. I'll talk to my front end guy about this process. I hate to admit how ignorant I am concerning this.

    10-4 on schribeing the tire and useing a tape worked for me for.the last 10 year's and don't plan on changing learned to use a string from an old timer for 3 axle alighnments and it works great to.make aure they change the lock nuts on the tie rod clamps I always do since the lock nuts are only good a few times just cheap insurance in my opinion.
