New tires

Won't be having my life riding on cheap Chinese steer tires. If you can swing it, don't buy Chinese at all. You'll get more for your money with premium tires. Unless you drive in areas where you're tearing tires up all the time (steel yards can be murder on tires). Then maybe go cheap.

 

For the menial difference in price, go American-made. A little more expensive up front, but well worth it in the long run.

 

Depends on if your front end is in good condition or not.

If your king pins are worn enough that they'll eat your tires, get Chinese rubber.

If your front axle is super tight, buy the best you can afford.

 

Bridgestone R283A or Michelin X-Line Energy Z for steer tires.

Bridgestone M726 ELA for drives.

You may pay more in the beginning, but they wear well and last longer than any Chinese Made tire.

 

Go with good one it will outperform cheap ones

 

I saw a guy once a few companies ago...proud of the deal he got on a new set of virgin tires. He'd JUST had them put on less than 100 miles ago...still had the nipples on them. I noticed 2 weren't the same as the other 6. "They blew out." So that was a heck of a deal he got on those chinacrap tires...already lost 2 & tore up a 1/4 fender and a mudflap.

I flat out REFUSE to run tires made in china. I don't care how cheap they are, because you get what you pay for and it'll cost you more in the long run.

 

I had Aeolus drive tires for over 240k miles on two trucks, no complaints
