Go to expeditorsonline.com and read the blogs. There is a gentleman who writes a blog about every day and he drives a cargo van for Fedex. He seems to be doing well. It's all in who you lease to and how hard you are willing to work. My husband and I used to live in Western Pa. between Erie and Pittsburgh(Go Steelers!!) We had a cargo van and then a straight truck and found we would get loads out of Akron,Oh. and Cleveland when we had to get out of the house. We now live in Ocala, FL. and hope to get back into expediting again someday when freight and the economy improves. Good Luck!

Check Regs. In Alabama in a cargo van you have to run logs. But do not have to go thru scales.

In AL the speed limit for hazmat loads is 55 m.p.h. They haven't nailed me yet though .

I didn't either until I came across it searching for other info .
Actually , it isn't all hazmat . Like many state regulations , it's vague and doesn't give a quantity .
