New to Flatbed: What commodities "really" need tarping

    Sometimes it’s about keeping the packing intact not protecting the product from getting wet.

    I love tarping! 95 out? No problem! 10 below out and blowing snow? No problem!

    I friggin love it and thank God because I do a lot of it!

    Some steel for instance, tarp nov thru april, the reason isnt weather, its salt that can play havoc with the exterior of the product when it comes time for fabrication/paint/assembly. Surface rust in summer isnt a problem for a good oxide paint to halt in its tracks, but calcium chloride will destroy it pretty fast

    We used to haul lumber out of MT down to a Home Depot DC in Ogden UT and every board in each unit of lumber had a barcode stapled on the end. Everything going in had to be tarped.
