All the Pros,
I have just traded for a 2000 International 9400 Eagle, I own out right. I am looking to see what route is better with a older truck in the industry. I have a buddy thats telling me to go the oil route. I am in Afghanistan right now serving and I am looking at putting a guy in my truck working it. I keep hearing ND and TX. I hear TX is better on truck, and driver can afford the living, verses the ND being very high cost of living. Any suggestions. I will take advise from the pros out there. Not looking at getting rich, just want my truck to make some money and keep driver happy.......Looking forward to hearing from everyone out there.

The first issue that you will probably come up against is finding a company that will allow you to lease on with a 12 yr old truck. You might want to check that out first because it may limit your options as to what you are going to do. Good luck.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but more companies are being forced by the insurance industry crooks to limit the age of there fleets. I am not saying that you can't find a carrier that will lease the truck on, but it will more than likely require a little more effort. You may also want to look at the Marcellus Shale wells in western Pa, and eastern OH. There are some smaller companies in that region that will lease on an older well maintained tractor. Good luck in your search.
