Nah, tried it a dozen times the past two days and double checked everything after the first attempt.

Dollar Tree is a home weekly account, but the system won't let you set a weekly home time. It requires at least 12 days from your last home time. You need to talk to your DM about setting your home time each week. Although, when I was on Dollar Tree out of Joliet, IL I never set my home time. They just planned me for home every weekend.

Good luck with that account. The money is good, but rolling those boxes absolutely sucked

They told me I was going to be on the rapid deployment fleet. I still don't really understand what that means...

Yeh, I thought I'd be home every week for a restart, but DM is telling me atleast 2 weeks out...

Yeh, me and the DT trainer did a trailer this morning...it ain't easy work lol. I haven't worked this hard since the Army.

How many trailers, stops, and miles did you average per week?

Iceman, I averaged 3 loads (trailers) a week. If you worked it right you could get 4. If they are keeping you out for 2 weeks you could easily get 4, maybe 5 loads over that weekend. The stops per load varied with each load with as few as one extra stop to as many as five. The miles weren't that great, but they compensated with higher cpm rate, higher stop pay than otr, and the weekly bonus. I averaged around $1000 take home each week.

Pumpkinhead, yes, rolling boxes. The drivers unload the trailers themselves using a set of rollers to roll the boxes out to a set of rollers the stores have. Then the store employees collect the boxes and stack them in their storeroom.

Dag, that's good money! When it comes time to go otr, is it a pretty easy switch? Or do they drag their feet trying to get you into another division?

Iceman, if you want to go back otr, just let your DM know, or talk to the fleet manager or terminal manager and they will get you switched over hassle free.

We no longer work with Central/Swift, but a suggestion (CYA policy), where signing the BOL... IF you were not on the dock counting, sign it with a SLC at the end of your name. SLC=shipper load & count.

I had a Command live load where I was required to be inside while they loaded similar to a Costco unload . They marked the bol driver count and I told them to change it or I would unhook and leave . Called my broker and he said he would get it fixed and it was okay to roll . I told him he had five minutes before I would be going through the gate bobtail .

Where they had marked driver count they had scribbled over and tried to hand me my copies only . I made them completely reprint the bol and marked and initialed shipper load and count . I then
made one of them sign and print their name and dl number just to be the biggest prick of the day at that dump .

    inkeper and HousTank Thank this.
