Greetings everyone. I recently purchased a 2006 VNL 630 with the D12 engine. I will be putting it into service in about 2 weeks. In the mean time, I've been trying to learn my way around the engine.I noticed there are three filters on the right side of the engine, and one on the left. Can some one explain these: I mean, why so many, and their purpose. Thanks in advance.
New to the D12 engine

When there is a problem code, will it be displayed automatically, or will I have to go through steps to retrieve them?
-
There is a spot on your dash to read all codes, they will appear as a three part number, use that number to look the code up on the Internet or call you volvo dealer
silver dollar Thanks this. -

I have a problem with mine to i have ad12 in a 2000 volvo
The only place that works on it is over 100 mile and will not talk to me over the phone
What mine is doing is this
It will be going down the road fine then all of a sudden it will stop pulling ash the pedal to the floor nothing let all the way off the pedal and press it all is good for a few miles then it will do it again
This time I press the fuel to the floor nothing with the pedal to the floor I press the clutch to the floor with the gas to the floor also the engine and rpm shows the truck is idling let off the gas pedal then press it again I works fine
Then yesterday it started doing it again but this time the led screen is flashing on and off and while it is blinding the truck will only go 5 mph idle speed
When it stops blinking the truck will run good
And the third grade that get me other then the blinking and no pulling power is it don't do it all the time
Any one have any ideals I'm lost -
2000 Volvo, how many miles?
My older 2011 Mack did the same thing, turned out to be injectors. I think two were bad, they all got replaced. Cost me a week's worth of unpaid, involuntary vacation time waiting for the dealership to get around to doing the work.
Dealerships suck. -
I checked the wires and wiggled them around while someone was watching my led it never blinked or anything
Please can someone give me any ideal
The volvo place wants 250 to hook it up and 150 a hour
Please help
