Hello, I am new to the forum.

I have been away from driving a commercial vehical for 6 years. Was forced to retire from it do to a work injury. I am wanting to get in a truck again as a part time driver, and have even found a local company whom is willing to let me drive part time.

However, the concern, is of the prescription painkillers and meds I take. These are prescribed to me on a monthly basis, as I have to take them daily. The prescriptions that are of concern are; Dihydrocodeine (Panlor SS), Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine (Fioricet), Alprazolam (Xanax), and Tramadol HCL (Ultram).

Can any person(s) tell me if I have a letter from my doctor saying he prescribed these medications and that I am required to take them daily do to my condition, would I be able to operate a commercial vehicle?

    Thanks for any response
    Kenney
