Hello, I'm looking to get my Class A but am having trouble with company age limits and paying for the very exspensive training for my age.
Any of you get your Class A at 18? I live in Washington State. Thanks.

I got mine at 19, while working at a farm equipment dealer. The driver they had was retiring, and I was asked to be the replacement. The retiree taught me what I needed to pass the test, and the rest was a baptism by fire. At 20, I pulled my first oversize load, and eventually had a reputation of hauling the loads no one wanted. Even for our competitors.
After ten fun years, I left that job for an OTR job, did that for two years, and have been local ever since.
I was lucky I guess, nowadays I think the way I went about it, couldn't be done nearly as easily -
Check with the household goods movers about running intrastate or as a drivers helper.

You can get your Class A at 18, but you're restricted to running intrastate.
