Factoring companies will only factor Loads from Bonded Brokers. Not from Direct Shippers. You can lease on other Trucks, under your Trucking Authority, and run them on Brokered Freight. I understand your thinking. The answer is yes, you can run each load through your Brokerage first, take a cut, then flip it to your Trucking Company. As far as double brokering is concerned. It’s only illegal if you agree not to do it. A lot of Brokerages do it, with full knowledge of the original Broker. Unfortunately a lot do it on the sly. after agreeing not to do it. That’s their risk to take. If something happens to the load, they’ll pay the price. The practice is rampant. Not limited to small operations either. The big outfits, usually with independent agents working on commission do it all the time. That’s another option. Get a job as an agent for someone else. Working under their Brokerage authority. Making commissions on brokered loads, along with dispatching your Truck under your own authority. Maybe have better access to freight, making a percentage off an occasional load brokered to your Truck.
